Job summary

Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer Level 3 to independently perform maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting on electrical power systems.

You will own assigned scopes, support commissioning, and mentor junior technicians while traveling to customer sites. The role requires 3–4 years of field service experience with LV/MV equipment, strong safety practices, and the ability to document test results and field reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school, military electrical training, or Associate's degree a plus.
• 3–4 years of field service experience with LV/MV switchgear, breakers, ATS, generators, or related equipment.
• Working knowledge of electrical safety practices including LOTO and arc-flash risk controls.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-lines.
• Ability to write clear field reports and maintain accurate test documentation.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required, sometimes on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform preventive maintenance and testing on LV and MV switchgear, breakers, ATS, RPPs, and PDUs.
• Troubleshoot common electrical, mechanical, and control issues; escalate complex faults to higher-level engineers.
• Support commissioning activities including pre-energization checks, point-to-point verification, and functional testing.
• Assist with control wiring checks, interlock verification, and basic communication diagnostics.
• Lead portions of job execution and oversee apprentices and junior technicians on assigned tasks.
