Job summary

Acuative Corporation seeks a Data Center & Route Switch Field Service Technician to install and maintain voice and data networks, servers, and related hardware across Columbus, OH and surrounding areas. The role emphasizes hands-on hardware installation, cabling, and on-site service at customer locations.

The ideal candidate will work independently, travel to various sites, and complete documented work orders while maintaining company vehicle, tools, and inventory.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with Cisco networking products and interfacing through Cisco CLI.
• Understanding of VOIP, PBX, and related hardware.
• Experience with desktop PC and server hardware support.
• Knowledge of cabling standards and ability to terminate cabling.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
• Ability to follow detailed job documents and training in hardware.
• Willingness to travel to meet customer SLAs.
• On-call, after hours, and weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain networking hardware including routers, switches, and WAPs.
• Install and maintain telephony equipment and circuits.
• Support retail technology systems such as POS, Digital Signage, and Video Surveillance.
• Perform circuit extensions and structured cabling.
• Conduct site surveys and audits for installations.
• Install LEO satellite receivers and fixed wireless hardware.
• Submit accurate job documents and maintain tools and vehicle.
• Travel to customer sites and comply with safety and process standards.
