Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer in the Bay Area to install and maintain advanced electron microscopy equipment, including SEM, TEM, and FIB systems.

You will travel regionally, perform on-site installations, provide diagnostics and repairs, and train customers on system maintenance. A bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of hands-on experience are required, with strong English communication and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in electronic systems field service or equivalent.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Install on-site equipment and follow testing procedures.
• Perform scheduled maintenance visits.
• Provide diagnosis and repair support for customers and field personnel.
• Travel to customer sites up to 50% and complete field service reports.
• Train customers on system maintenance and safety procedures.
