Job summary

Edwards Vacuum is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to support on-site installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of vacuum pumps and abatement systems. You will de-palletize, preflight, diagnose faults and prepare pumps for shipment, working closely with customer personnel to resolve issues with chambers and forelines.

Qualified applicants will have at least two years of customer-facing experience, hands-on pump experience (Edwards, Ebara, Alcatel, Leybold), and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Two (2) or more years experience interacting with customers preferred.
• Hands-on experience with vacuum pumps such as Edwards, Ebara, Alcatel and Leybold dry, rotary vane and boosters preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• College or specific relevant coursework preferred
• Industry experience preferred
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret written document
• Ability to respond in a professional manner to common inquiries
• Ability to prepare reports, and write business correspondence
• Regularly required to talk, and hear. Stand or sit for extended periods, walk; use hands to type, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Routinely required to stoop, kneel or crouch
• Frequently lift and or move up to 35 pounds
• WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics are those of an administrative office in a production facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform vacuum pump preventative maintenance.
• Deinstall failed pumps and install rebuilt pumps.
• Prepare vacuum pumps for shipment.
• Work with customer personnel to troubleshoot vacuum issues with chambers, forelines and vacuum pumps.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Gas Abatement Systems
