Job summary

Edwards Company, part of Atlas Copco Group, is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to support on-site operations in Hillsboro, OR. You will troubleshoot vacuum systems, perform maintenance, de-palletize pumps, and install rebuilt units, collaborating with customer teams to resolve issues.

Experience with Edwards, Ebara, Alcatel, Leybold pumps preferred; strong reading and reporting skills required; physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds; on-site production facility environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience interacting with customers preferred.
• Hands-on experience with vacuum pumps (Edwards, Ebara, Alcatel, Leybold).
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• College coursework preferred.
• Industry experience preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret written documents.
• Ability to respond professionally to inquiries.
• Ability to prepare reports and write business correspondence.
• Physical ability to stand/sit for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
• Work environment: administrative office in a production facility.

Job description

As a Field Service Engineer I, you will:

• De-palletize and preflight vacuum pumps for use by the customer.
• To troubleshoot, diagnose, and remedy where possible filed installed equipment faults and errors.
• Perform vacuum pump preventative maintenance.
• Deinstall failed pumps and install rebuilt pumps.
• Prepare vacuum pumps for shipment.
• Work with customer personnel to troubleshoot vacuum issues with chambers, forelines and vacuum pumps.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Gas Abatement Systems

To succeed, you will need

• Two (2) or more years experience interacting with customers preferred.
• Hands-on experience with vacuum pumps such as Edwards, Ebara, Alcatel and Leybold dry, rotary vane and boosters preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• College or specific relevant coursework preferred
• Industry experience preferred
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret written document
• Ability to respond in a professional manner to common inquiries
• Ability to prepare reports, and write business correspondence
• Regularly required to talk, and hear. Stand or sit for extended periods, walk; use hands to type, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Routinely required to stoop, kneel or crouch
• Frequently lift and or move up to 35 pounds
• WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics are those of an administrative office in a production facility.
