Edwards Vacuum in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to service and troubleshoot vacuum pumps at customer sites. You will de-palletize and preflight pumps, diagnose equipment faults, and install rebuilt pumps.

On-site role requires two years of customer-facing experience, knowledge of Edwards, Ebara, Alcatel and Leybold pump types, and strong written and verbal communication. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a culture of trust.

Qualifications

• Two (2) or more years experience interacting with customers preferred.
• Hands-on experience with vacuum pumps from Edwards, Ebara, Alcatel and Leybold preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret written documents.
• Ability to respond professionally to inquiries; write reports and business correspondence.

Responsabilités

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and remedy where possible field installed equipment faults and errors.
• Deinstall failed pumps and install rebuilt pumps.
• Prepare vacuum pumps for shipment.
• Work with customer personnel to troubleshoot vacuum issues with chambers, forelines and vacuum pumps.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Gas Abatement Systems.

Your role

As a Field Service Engineer I, You Will

• De-palletize and preflight vacuum pumps for use by the customer.
• To troubleshoot, diagnose, and remedy where possible filed installed equipment faults and errors.
• Perform vacuum pump preventative maintenance.
• Deinstall failed pumps and install rebuilt pumps.
• Prepare vacuum pumps for shipment.
• Work with customer personnel to troubleshoot vacuum issues with chambers, forelines and vacuum pumps.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Gas Abatement Systems

To succeed, you will need

• Two (2) or more years experience interacting with customers preferred.
• Hands-on experience with vacuum pumps such as Edwards, Ebara, Alcatel and Leybold dry, rotary vane and boosters preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• College or specific relevant coursework preferred
• Industry experience preferred
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret written document
• Ability to respond in a professional manner to common inquiries
• Ability to prepare reports, and write business correspondence
• Regularly required to talk, and hear. Stand or sit for extended periods, walk; use hands to type, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Routinely required to stoop, kneel or crouch
• Frequently lift and or move up to 35 pounds
• WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics are those of an administrative office in a production facility.
