Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Indiana to commission, test, and troubleshoot power distribution and protection systems across varied industrial environments. The role emphasizes field execution on nationwide projects with significant travel.

You will work with protection relays (SEL, GE Multilin, Siemens SIPROTEC), use Omicron and Doble test sets, and document findings in field reports.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years in field-based commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution systems.
• Experience with protection and control relays (SEL, GE Multilin, Siemens SIPROTEC) and related software.
• Experience with relay testing equipment such as Omicron and Doble test sets.
• Experience with low- and medium-voltage switchgear, breakers, and control circuits.
• Ability to interpret test data and document findings clearly.
• Willingness to travel up to ~80% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, commission, and start up LV/MV power distribution equipment (480V–38kV).
• Perform hands-on commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of protection and control relays.
• Use Omicron/Doble test sets and relay software to validate performance.
• Support greenfield and brownfield projects through commissioning and maintenance.
• Analyze test results and document findings in field reports.
• Work with customers, partners, and internal teams to provide technical support and training.
• Travel extensively to job sites across the U.S. to support field execution.
