Job summary

Avantik is seeking Field Service Engineers to service histology laboratory equipment across the US, traveling to customer sites as needed. You will work with the Service Coordinator to manage schedules and communicate ETA, status, and completion.

Responsibilities include repairs, PMs, reporting, inventory, quotes coordination, and generating service leads while upholding Avantik standards and values. A strong mechanical aptitude and solid communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Need basic mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret schematics.
• Strong verbal and written communication; teamwork oriented.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites across the US.

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency repairs and preventative maintenance per Avantik standards.
• Maintain proper parts inventory for emergency repairs and PM tasks.
• Evaluate client labs for additional service opportunities.
• Compile necessary service reports and PM date stickers for instruments.
• Coordinate schedule with client and communicate ETA and status.
• Record service reports and send to Service Coordinator onsite.
• Follow up with Service Coordinator to ensure documentation is up to date.
• Restock inventory and take warehouse physical inventory as requested.
• Attend scheduled FSE meetings and coordinate quotes with office staff.
• Generate sales leads by observing client needs while onsite.
• Follow up on pending contract renewals and PMs not yet closed.
• Report service issues and customer feedback to manager.
