Job summary

Avantik is seeking Field Service Engineers to service histology laboratory equipment in customer sites across assigned regions. You will perform emergency repairs and preventative maintenance, coordinate with the Service Coordinator, and maintain clear communication regarding ETA, status, and completion.

You will also generate service reports, restock parts, and identify opportunities for consumables while supporting contract renewals and PM activities.

• Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Willingness to travel; car provided for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency repairs and preventative maintenance per Avantik standards.
• Maintain necessary parts inventory for repairs and PM tasks.
• Evaluate client labs for additional service opportunities.
• Prepare service reports and PM date stickers for instruments.
• Coordinate schedules with clients and communicate ETA and status.
• Document service activities and send reports to the Service Coordinator on-site.
• Restock inventory and conduct warehouse counts as requested.
• Attend FSE meetings and coordinate quotes with office staff.
• Identify potential consumable solutions and generate sales leads.
• Follow up on contract renewals and pending PM jobs.

This hire will support Southwest Atlanta to service the Montgomery, Columbus and Macon areas. Travel into MS and AL will be required as well.

Summary/objective:

Field Service Engineers (FSEs) represent the company working in customer laboratories throughout their assigned region and nationwide as needed. FSEs provide service for histology laboratory equipment addressing any needs, concerns, and questions they might have. Working with their assigned Service Coordinator, coordinate schedule with customer and maintain communication regarding estimated time of arrival, job status, equipment status, and time of completion and departure from account along with their direct manager and the customer. Perform all service calls to the Avantik standards of training and protocol ensuring they are upholding company core values at all times.

Essential functions:

• Perform emergency repairs and preventative maintenance according to Avantik service levels and the documented PM protocols.
• Maintain possession of proper parts inventory necessary for emergency repairs and PM tasks
• Evaluate client labs for additional service opportunities
• Compile necessary service reports for repairs and PM date stickers for all instruments service
• Coordinate schedule with client and maintain communication regarding estimated time of arrival
• Record service reports and send to Service Coordinator electronically at the time of service while onsite at the customers location
• Follow up with Service Coordinator to ensure service documentation is up to date and complete
• Restock inventory as parts become available. Take physical inventory of warehouse as requested
• Attend scheduled FSE meetings as required
• Coordinate all quotes with the office staff
• Generate sales leads by watching for potential consumable solutions, by attentively observing client needs while on-site
• Follow up on any pending contract renewals and PM jobs that have not yet been closed
• Report service issues and/or customer feedback to your manager
• Maintain an organized service vehicle ensuring successful site visits for upcoming week
