Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join the Cable Backplane Systems team in Santa Clara, CA. You will be the on-site technical expert, perform installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure high-performance interconnect solutions for leading telecom/datacom equipment.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field and 5+ years in field service or similar hands-on roles.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in Electrical/Mechanical engineering or related field.
5+ years of field service, technical support, or hands-on engineering experience.
Familiarity with interconnect systems, signal integrity, and electrical testing.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary on-site technical contact for installation, maintenance, and service of Amphenol products.
Diagnose and resolve complex interconnect issues in the field, including signal integrity challenges and mechanical fit.
Provide post-sales technical assistance to ensure customer satisfaction and product reliability.
Collaborate with engineering, product development, and sales teams to relay field feedback and drive improvement.
Deliver training and support to customers on product usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Document service activities, findings, and customer interactions.
