Job summary

CDimension, headquartered in San Jose, CA, is hiring a Field Service Engineer to lead installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of our MOCVD systems at internal facilities and customer sites. You will bridge the gap between engineering and real-world operation, ensuring reliable performance and fast issue resolution.

You will diagnose issues, train users, and contribute to product improvements while traveling to customer sites and supporting deployment efforts across client facilities.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required.
• 3+ years of field service or equipment engineering experience in relevant industries.
• Hands-on experience with vacuum systems, gas delivery, and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Willingness to travel for customer site installations and service visits.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site installation, startup, and commissioning of MOCVD and related semiconductor processing equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on vacuum systems, gas delivery systems, and control electronics.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and process-related equipment issues.
• Develop and maintain service documentation including installation procedures, maintenance checklists, and troubleshooting guides.
• Train end users (internal technicians and customer personnel) on equipment operation and upkeep.
• Act as the primary technical liaison between customers and CDimension engineering during deployment.
• Provide feedback from field observations to drive continuous product improvement.

• Lead on-site installation, startup, and commissioning of MOCVD and related semiconductor processing equipment
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on vacuum systems, gas delivery systems, and control electronics
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and process-related equipment issues
• Develop and maintain service documentation including installation procedures, maintenance checklists, and troubleshooting guides

• 3+ years of field service or equipment engineering experience in semiconductor, vacuum, or precision instrumentation industries
• Hands-on experience with vacuum systems, gas delivery, and control systems
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in field environments
• Willingness to travel for customer site installations and service visits

Nice to Have

• Prior experience servicing CVD, MOCVD, ALD, or other deposition equipment
• Familiarity with LabVIEW, PLCs, or other equipment control platforms
• Experience in a startup or small team environment requiring cross-functional flexibility
