As a Field Services Engineer, you will perform hands‑on installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support while developing specialized expertise through structured on-the-job training. This customer‑facing opportunity offers exposure to complex semiconductor technology and the chance to grow across multiple equipment platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting of semiconductor ion implantation equipment at customer sites.
- Follow approved procedures, work instructions, checklists, cleanroom protocols, and safety requirements when completing service activities.
- Support system diagnostics, failure analysis, equipment recovery, stabilization, start‑up, qualification, upgrades, retrofits, and modifications.
- Document service work, inspection results, technical findings, and corrective actions accurately in service reports and internal systems.
- Respond to scheduled and unscheduled service calls while supporting customer operations during equipment downtime and troubleshooting events.
- Promptly escalating technical issues, abnormal conditions, and unresolved problems to senior Field Service Engineers or management.
- Participate in structured on-the-job training to develop proficiency across ion implantation and other semiconductor equipment platforms.
- Work flexible schedules, including occasional nights, weekends, holidays, travel, and overtime based on customer and operational needs.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, diagrams, and service data.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise operating procedures.
- Clear written and verbal English communication skills and a strong customer‑service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding semiconductor manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules as required by equipment issues or customer needs.
- Valid driver’s license and passport, ability to pass customer background checks, and authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience in field service, equipment maintenance, manufacturing support, semiconductor equipment, or related technical roles.
- Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment, ion implantation equipment, or complex electromechanical systems.
- Knowledge of equipment start‑up, qualification, upgrades, retrofits, hardware updates, and software modifications.
- Experience working in semiconductor cleanrooms or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with failure analysis, equipment recovery, and downtime reduction activities.
- Ability to work safely with PPE, respirators following proper fit testing and training, and customer‑specific safety requirements.
