Job summary

Nordson Measurement & Control seeks an experienced Field Service Engineer to install, calibrate, and repair equipment at customer sites across Illinois and surrounding areas.

Travel up to 90% is required; you will diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software issues, provide technical training, and collaborate with engineering, sales and support teams to minimize downtime and maximize customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Military Equivalent.
• 2+ years of field service, maintenance, or technical support experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service management systems.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and configure equipment according to company and customer requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software-related issues.
• Repair and replace defective components and parts.
• Respond promptly to service calls and customer support requests.
• Document service activities, maintenance records, and repair reports accurately.
• Provide technical training and operational guidance to customers and end users.
• Collaborate with engineering, technical support, and sales teams to resolve complex issues.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements or upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Manage service tools, test equipment, and spare parts inventory.
• Travel frequently to customer locations as required
