Job summary

Volvo Penta North America is seeking a highly skilled field service technician to support marine and industrial products across the U.S. territory.

You will troubleshoot complex engine and electro-mechanical systems, mentor dealers, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery. This field-based role requires up to 50% travel, near major airports, with on-site offices in Chesapeake, VA or remote sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in mechanical or related engineering field; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Minimum 8 years in engine OEM, distributor, or dealer service environments.
• Expert knowledge of industrial and marine engines, diagnostics, and repair.
• Experience with electrification, hybrid systems, connectivity, and remote diagnostics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical resource for complex applications, troubleshooting, and repairs in industrial and marine engines.
• Lead investigations into product complaints and ensure timely resolution.
• Develop dealer service capabilities, including electrification and remote diagnostics.
• Promote Volvo Penta digital tools (VPPN) and case management; support field service activities.
