Job summary

Messer Cutting Systems, a global cutting solutions provider, seeks a Field Service Engineer for Chicago, IL and surrounding areas. You will install, service, and maintain multi-axis CNC machines at customer sites across North America, requiring extensive travel and strict safety compliance.

With 3+ years in machine installation/repair and an associate degree in electronics/robotics, you will upgrade software, train customers, and ensure high satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience in machine installation and repair.
• Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Robotics or Automation preferred.
• Experience with plasma, laser, and oxyfuel cutting processes.
• Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, install, and perform preventive maintenance of CNC equipment at customer sites.
• Perform machine and software upgrades and train customers on use and maintenance.
• Handle 480VAC safely and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• Read mechanical layouts, electrical schematics, and Bills of Materials.
• Travel 95–100% and complete service reports on time.
