Job summary

Forterra is seeking a Field Service Engineer to deliver advanced technical support across hardware and software systems. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues, maintain uptime, and support deployments in field environments.

The role emphasizes root cause analysis, system integration, and continuous improvement while traveling extensively to customer sites, potentially including international assignments.

Qualifications

• BS in computer science, engineering, robotics, or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Linux, networking fundamentals, and debugging.
• Strong programming skills in C++ or Python.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote support to diagnose and resolve complex system issues, minimizing downtime.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across hardware, software, and networking components.
• Perform log analysis, system health checks, and root-cause investigations for recurring failures.
• Support system installations, upgrades, patches, and configuration changes in field environments.
• Travel to customer sites for on-site field service operations and extended deployments.
