Job summary

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc. in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to perform repair, maintenance and verification of analytical instrumentation.

Responsibilities include field service, in-house repairs and travel within the local region to support customers. The role requires an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology (bachelor’s preferred) and at least four years of experience with HPLC, GC, LCMS or AA instruments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least four years of experience in repairing analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, LCMS, AA or similar instruments.
• Strong technical knowledge of these technologies.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• Willingness to travel

Responsibilities

• Provide daily repair and maintenance support for assigned products.
• Conduct in-house bench repairs and field service calls with limited supervision.
• Travel within the local region to support customer needs, including day and overnight trips.
• Offer technical support via phone to customers and field personnel regarding repairs and installations.
