Job summary

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc. in Bloomington, IL seeks a Field Service Engineer to repair, maintain and verify the performance of analytical instrumentation, including demo equipment and customer-returned instruments.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology, 4+ years of repair experience on HPLC/GC/LCMS/AA, strong communication skills and willingness to travel within the local region.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology or equivalent required.
• At least four years of experience repairing analytical instrumentation (HPLC/GC/LCMS/AA or similar).
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily repair and maintenance support for assigned products.
• Conduct in-house bench repairs as needed while handling field service calls.
• Travel within the local region (including day and overnight trips) to support customer needs.
• Offer technical support via phone to customers and field personnel regarding repairs, maintenance and installations.
