Job summary

Malvern Panalytical is seeking a Customer Support Engineer to install, maintain, and repair analytical instrumentation across the Northwestern United States. You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and provide on-site and remote support to ensure peak instrument performance.

This role requires 3–5 years in electronics or related fields, strong communication, and the ability to travel up to 80%.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in electronics, electro-mechanical systems, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex instrumentation.
• Ability to diagnose, analyze, and resolve equipment issues independently.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management with multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with computer-based diagnostic tools and service reporting systems.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel ~80%.

Responsibilities

• Install analytical instrumentation from delivery through final customer sign-off.
• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and troubleshooting on complex scientific equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve instrumentation issues remotely, over the phone, and on-site at customer locations.
• Respond to customer inquiries within established service response guidelines.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and service delivery.
• Escalate technical issues through established procedures when additional expertise is required.
• Accurately complete and submit service reports, maintenance records, and other documentation.
• Process parts returns and repairs per company policies.
• Keep customers informed regarding service progress and timelines.
• Travel extensively across the assigned territory; collaborate with team and provide regional support.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of manuals and product developments.
