Job summary

Makino seeks a CNC Technician Level 2 or Senior to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC equipment at customer sites across the NE region. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills and a drive to support customers’ machine tool operations.

The technician will travel from home to customer locations, install and service Makino CNC machines, and provide after-sales training. This position starts with onboarding and ongoing professional development within a global manufacturing

Qualifications

• Direct hands-on experience servicing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining Makino CNC machine tools; equivalent experience on other high-end CNC platforms considered.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office); regular use of a laptop, smartphone, and various apps.
• Strong technical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours with travel throughout a regional territory; technicians dispatched from home to customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Research and resolve machine issues using online documentation, manuals, and vendor resources.
• Complete and submit accurate documentation to Makino and customers regarding machine status, repairs, and installations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and provide after-sales technical support and training.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of the machine tool industry and Makino product lines.
• Participate in training on CNC repair and Makino equipment during onboarding.

CNC Technician Level 2 or Sr.

Position Summary
The CNC Technician at Makino will utilize strong mechanical and electrical skills to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC equipment. This role reports directly to the Reginal Customer Support Manager and plays a key part in supporting our customers’ machine tool operations. This position will primarily cover the NE region.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tool equipment and controls.
  (Makino provides a company vehicle; gas and travel expenses are covered.)
• Use online technical documentation, manuals, and vendor resources to research and resolve machine issues.
• Complete and submit accurate documentation to Makino and customers regarding machine status, repairs, and installations.
• Perform and promote preventive maintenance on customer equipment and provide after‑sales technical support and training.
• Maintain an in‑depth understanding of the machine tool industry and the Makino product lines.
