Makino is seeking an Automation Support Engineer to manage the installation and support of automated systems in Mason, Ohio and customer locations. The role requires mechanical and electrical skills along with programming ability for robots and PLCs.
The successful candidate will have an associates degree in engineering technology and at least 3 years of experience in automation systems. This position involves significant travel (75%-90%) and offers competitive pay and benefits.

The Automation Support Engineer is responsible for the installation of the Makino automated systems servicing Makino machining centers and other ancillary equipment. The automated systems utilize various automation products (robots, gantry systems, vision systems, marking systems, conveyance systems) to automate the flow of material through the Makino machining systems. The engineer will be responsible for the proper installation and startup of these systems at the customer location.
The support engineer will also be involved in assisting with the installation of custom and special options for use on Makino machining centers and equipment provided by Makino to support customer’s requests. These options are widely varied in design and function, typically new and unique customer defined, and interface directly with the standard CNC machine tool and Makino supplied and supported equipment.
