Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Tampa, FL to install, validate, and commission complex interconnect and tactical communications systems for aerospace and government customers. This role offers hands-on troubleshooting, customer interaction, and ownership of field service delivery.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Engineering, 5+ years in field service, and strong networking/security skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of field service experience.
• Experience with Docker, containers, virtualization, VLANs, routing, VPN, firewalls, multicast, TCP/IP, packet capture, Wireshark, ATAK, TAK Server.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site installation, validation, and commissioning of systems.
• Perform hands-on on-site troubleshooting, service, and repairs.
• Provide high-level technical support to customers at their location.
• Interface with cross-functional teams (field applications, customer support, product management, manufacturing, sales).
• Develop service technical documentation.
• Create and maintain service information in the enterprise database.
• Timely and professional handling of field service calls and issues.
• Complete and submit all required paperwork.
• Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and apply corrective actions.
• Manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
• Diagnose errors and determine proper solutions.

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team. This role is ideal for a self-starter who is passionate about using their expertise in tactical communications or similar product lines. Responsibilities

1. 1. Provide on-site installation, validation, and commission of systems.

11. 11. Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.

Qualifications

1. 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
2. 2. 5+ years of experience in a field service role.
3. 3. Proven experience with Docker, Containers, Virtualization, VLAN, VLANs, Routing, VPN, Firewalls, Multicast, TCP/IP, Packet capture, WireShark, ATAK, TAK Server, Test Plans, Defect Tracking, Technical Documentation, Customer Training.
4. 4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. 5. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
6. 6. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
7. 7. Willingness to travel extensively.
8. 8. Strong customer service skills and the ability to build productive relationships.
9. 9. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
10. 10. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
11. 11. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
12. 12. Certifications in relevant areas would be an added advantage.
