Job summary

TRUMPF is seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer in Plymouth, MI to join our technical service group. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair TRUMPF equipment, and participate in extensive training on new products.

The role requires a two-year technical degree or equivalent, 2+ years in technical service, and strong electrical/computer diagnostics. You will travel domestically and internationally as needed and provide on-call support as part of a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in engineering or related field preferred, or combination of training and work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in technical service, field service, repair or customer service.
• Strong electrical and computer systems experience and high level of diagnostic skills.
• Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems or mechatronics.
• Experience with TRUMPF equipment is advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support TRUMPF customers in North America as part of the technical service group.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair TRUMPF equipment with high quality.
• Participate in training lasting approximately 5-6 months with ongoing training on products.
• Complete basic retrofits, software installations and customer training.
• Complete paperwork on time with high quality.
• Work independently to resolve technical problems and maintain good relationships with customers.
• Provide on-call 24/7 telephone support as required, as part of rotating on-call.
• Must be located or relocate to Plymouth, MI.
• 100% travel domestically and internationally as required.
