Job summary

IWK, a global supplier of packaging equipment, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, commission, and service our machines at customer sites. You will ensure optimal performance, minimal downtime, and strong customer satisfaction while working remotely when not on site.

Based in Parsippany, NJ with up to 80% travel (including international), you will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control issues, provide thorough reports, and collaborate with engineering teams to drive product

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience servicing automated equipment (mechanical, electrical, controls).
• Experience with Schneider Electric control systems and function block programming is desirable.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and pneumatic diagrams.
• Familiarity with remote troubleshooting tools (TeamViewer, NetSupport Manager).

Responsibilities

• Install, start up, maintain, and repair IWK equipment on-site with full documentation.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues; provide detailed service reports and corrective actions.
• Optimize equipment performance through fine-tuning and process adjustments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to share field data and drive product improvements.
• Serve as the primary technical representative, maintaining professional communication and customer relationships.
• Investigate complaints, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Train customers on equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Plan and execute daily work schedules efficiently.

Salary Range: $38.00 - $44.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Associate’s degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Factory Automation, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical/electrical environments, ideally with automated or packaging equipment.
• Military veterans with equivalent technical training and field experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Technical Skills

• Proven expertise in servicing automated equipment (mechanical, electrical, controls).
• Experience with Schneider Electric control systems and function block programming is highly desirable.
• Basic understanding of PLC logic and HMI interfaces.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and pneumatic diagrams.
• Familiarity with remote troubleshooting tools (e.g., TeamViewer, NetSupport Manager).

Professional Skills

• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Comfortable working remotely via VPN, intranet, and cloud-based tools.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.

Travel Requirements

• Valid passport and driver’s license required.
• Willing and able to travel up to 80%, including international assignments.
