Job description

Guided Search Partners (GSP)

Guided Search Partners is an Executive Search firm built on trust, transparency, specialization, and long-term relationships. We connect high-performing professionals with organizations that value people, performance, and growth—helping leaders find roles where they can make an impact and build meaningful careers.

About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a well-established manufacturer of analytical instrumentation serving the food and agriculture industries. With more than six decades of history, consistent demand for its products, and a reputation for taking care of its people, this organization offers stability alongside technical challenge.

This role is open due to a planned replacement and joins a seasoned field service team supporting customers across the Upper Midwest. The territory includes North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, with a strong concentration in meat and grain applications.

The opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys autonomy, customer interaction, and hands-on technical work. If you thrive on solving problems in the field, building long-term customer relationships, and working with sophisticated instrumentation, this role offers variety, responsibility, and meaningful impact.

What You’ll Do
  • Travel to customer sites to install, maintain, and repair analytical instruments used throughout the food industry.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on systems supporting meat, grain, and related applications.
  • Support customers both in person and remotely via phone or online tools.
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers, ensuring instruments operate accurately and reliably.
  • Manage service documentation, follow procedures, and maintain clear communication with internal teams.
  • Represent the company professionally while working independently across a multi-state territory.
  • Build trust with customers through responsiveness, technical competence, and consistent follow-through.
Who You Are

You’re comfortable working on the road and enjoy being the person customers rely on when equipment matters most. You’re technically grounded, self-directed, and able to balance independence with accountability.

You bring a service mindset to every interaction—clear communication, professionalism, and attention to detail. Whether your background comes from the military, formal education, or hands-on field experience, you’re confident working with complex instruments and adapting to new environments quickly.

Preferred Experience & Attributes
  • Background in electronics or physics through education, military service, or professional experience.
  • Prior field service experience supporting instruments or technical equipment.
  • Ability to pass required background, driving, financial, and criminal checks.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 90% of the time within the assigned territory.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working directly with customers.
  • Organized, dependable, and capable of managing a dynamic travel schedule.
Why This Role Matters

This role is critical to ensuring customers can rely on their analytical systems day in and day out. Your work directly supports food quality, safety, and production across a stable, essential industry.

You’ll join a team known for tenure, technical depth, and collaboration, within a company that continues to perform well and invest in its people. For someone seeking long-term growth, field autonomy, and exposure to advanced instrumentation, this role offers a strong platform.
