Our field service engineers work directly from customer’s job site providing installation/startup support, warranty repair, technical troubleshooting, training, preventive maintenance, and emergency service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and start-up company manufactured equipment at customer sites according to specifications and drawings.
- Monitor erection and installation of equipment to ensure that company guidelines and tolerances have been met.
- Service all company products at customer sites; testing, troubleshooting and adjusting as needed.
- Use various gauges, meters, and electrical testing equipment to check specifications.
- Provide technical support to customers over the telephone, addressing and resolving questions and problems.
- Communicate with appropriate company employees regarding product problems to facilitate problem resolution.
- Conduct training and service programs in the operation and maintenance of equipment for customer employees.
- Complete all required records and documentation for customers and for the company.
- Determine the acceptance of equipment erection to activate warranty.
- Assist, direct and monitor contracted installation crews when applicable.
- Assist in the training of all new hires.
- Remain technically competent and keep current in new developments within the industry.
- Will be required to travel up to 50% in a given year
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3 to 5 years of field service experience.
- Must meet requirements for electrician and have a high level of mechanical aptitude
- have 3-5 years of PLC experience and understand the logic in regards to equipment functions.
- Understanding of temperature controllers and AC drives including programming these devices.
- read and interpret documents such as blueprints, customer specifications, warranties, company standards, and operating and maintenance instructions.
- write routine reports and correspondence.
- communicate effectively with customers and other employees of the organization.
- solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- operate a variety of small hand and power tools,
- operate electronic testing equipment
- 30% international travel
- read and work from blueprints and schematics.
