This position reports to

Field Service Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will execute work to meet assigned objectives. Responsibilities include performing installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on electrical distribution equipment. The work model for the role is: #LI - Remote. This role contributes to the Electrification Service Division in Neenah, WI - Central area. Main responsibilities include:

1. Communicating with internal and external customers via phone/email to schedule jobs, order materials, and perform safety analysis and paperwork prior to work.
2. Conducting work activities in compliance with ABB HSE, ABB Way, and Safety policies at all times.
3. Executing projects including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment such as transformers, switchgear, OCBs, circuit breakers, busways, UPS, ATS, PLCs, relays, and other power-related equipment.
4. Participating in outages with other engineers, technicians, and contractors, including project management and site coordination.
5. Completing administrative tasks such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, and preparing job and expense reports thoroughly and on time.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, preferably Electrical or Mechanical, or High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of field engineering experience or equivalent (e.g., military service).
• Ability to handle/move circuit breakers and equipment weighing several hundred pounds.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Willingness to travel approximately 75%, with a valid passport and driver’s license.
• Knowledge of the industrial customer base in the area is preferred.
• Technical skills in testing power distribution, including Low Voltage and Medium Voltage equipment, relays, and transformers.
• Experience in repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers (OEM equipment such as Siemens, GE, ABB, Square D, etc.) is preferred.
• Additional skills in testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of medium voltage machines and controls are a plus.
• Must have legal work authorization in the US.
