Job summary

White-Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and maintain automated industrial machinery at customer sites in the Chicago area. The role involves troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control systems with PLCs and commissioning new equipment.

Travel to sites is required. Ideal candidates have PLC fault-finding skills, experience with automation machinery, and are comfortable working independently while delivering strong customer service.

Salary: USD75000 - USD100000 per annum

Location:Chicago (field based)

Travel:Regional / Nationwide Travel

We’re working with a growing industrial engineering business looking to add aField Service Engineerto support automated machinery and industrial equipment at customer sites.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Field Service Engineer or a strongIndustrial Maintenance, Controls or Automation Technicianlooking to move into a field-based position.

The Role

• Service, troubleshoot and repair automated industrial machinery
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical and controls faults
• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance
• Install and commission new machinery and equipment
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment
• Work with motors, VFDs, sensors, conveyors, pneumatics and control systems
• Complete equipment upgrades and modifications
• Provide technical support directly to customers
• Travel to customer sites as required

• Strong customer-facing and communication skills

Previous Field Service experience is not essential.

Candidates currently working as Maintenance Technicians, Controls Technicians, Automation Technicians or Electro-Mechanical Technicians who are interested in moving into Field Service are encouraged to apply.
