Reporting Line

This position reports to: Field Service Manager

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will execute work to meet assigned objectives. Responsibilities include performing installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on electrical distribution equipment.

The work model for this role is: #LI - Remote

This position contributes to the Electrification Service Division in Neenah, WI - Central area.

Main Accountabilities

• Communicate with internal and external customers via phone/email to schedule upcoming jobs, order required materials, and perform safety analysis and paperwork prior to starting work.
• Ensure compliance with ABB HSE (Health, Safety and Environment), ABB Way, and Safety Manual & Safety policy at all times.
• Be responsible for hands-on execution of projects including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, busways, UPS, ATS, PLCs, relays, and other power-related equipment.
• Participate in outages with other field engineers, technicians, and contractors, including project management and site engineers. Perform administrative functions like writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, and preparing job status reports, time sheets, and expense sheets thoroughly and on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, preferably Electrical or Mechanical, or High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of related engineering/field experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of field engineering experience or equivalent such as military service.
• Ability to handle/move circuit breakers and other equipment weighing several hundred pounds.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Willingness to travel approximately 75%, with a valid passport and driver's license.
• Knowledge of the industrial customer base in the area is preferred.
• Technical skills in testing power distribution and delivery systems, including Low Voltage and Medium Voltage equipment, are preferred.
• Experience in repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers (OEM equipment such as Siemens, GE, ABB, Square D, etc.) is preferred.
• Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines, controls systems, and PLCs are a plus.
• Must have work authorization to work in the US for ABB.
