Description
Rigaku is a world leader in X-ray diffraction (XRD), scattering, fluorescence, imaging analyses, Raman spectroscopy, and thermal analysis equipment manufacturing. Rigaku Americas Corporation is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform planned maintenance on TXRF, XRF, and XRD instruments.
This position involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of Analytical X-ray Equipment, X-ray HV Power Supplies, X-ray Detection Devices, Automation Devices, CCD Cameras, Cryogenic Equipment, and related devices. The role requires extensive travel Monday through Friday, with potential weekend and holiday work. Compensation includes salary and performance-based incentives based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and basic service on our systems, including verification of system performance, execution of detailed protocols, and final verification against specifications.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on-site using Digital Voltmeter (DVM).
- Qualify the instrument after service by executing operational and performance protocols, including running verifications.
- Make travel arrangements and generate expense reports.
- Secure customer acceptance of maintenance or repairs.
- Coordinate customer WebEx sessions, phone support, and facility inspections.
- Attend certified Rigaku product training at the factory.
- Work closely with service/support centers.
Qualifications
- B.S. Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years' experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic equipment.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Basic understanding of network interfacing.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical issues clearly.
- Understanding of analog electronics, high voltage circuitry, laser technology, and high vacuum systems.
- Customer-focused with the ability to interact with scientists holding advanced degrees.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and responsive.
- Willingness to travel routinely and maintain necessary travel documents.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Comfort manipulating small hand tools.
