Job summary

Herc Rentals is hiring a Field Service Dispatcher in San Antonio, TX. You will coordinate field mechanics, manage service calls, track parts and time, and communicate with customers and internal teams to ensure timely repairs.

The role requires 3–5 years in heavy equipment or construction markets, strong data entry and MS Word/Excel skills, and a multitasking mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required.
• 3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment or construction markets preferred.
• Computer skills to enter information into systems.
• Strong understanding of logistics for heavy equipment movement.
• Prior dispatch experience required.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer customer calls.
• Set work schedules for field mechanics.
• Prioritize, schedule and dispatch field service team across the service area.
• Determine severity of service requests and best course of action.
• Ensure mechanics account for time and parts.
• Parts purchasing and ensuring timely repairs and work orders.
• Communicate with locations on charges, warranty, or replacements.
• Contact manufacturers and vendors to complete repairs.
• Provide updates to stakeholders on repairs and services.
• Participate in Herc Rentals Safety Culture and safety of team.
• Support all team members and follow company procedures.
