Job summary
American Engineering Testing Inc. is seeking a Field Scientist to perform environmental field activities, including sampling, monitoring, and data collection in the Saint Paul area. You will support projects focusing on asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, and other environmental services under supervision.
The role involves outdoor fieldwork up to 90%, driving to sites, and occasional extended hours. A Bachelor's degree in a related field and 0–3 years of experience are preferred; OSHA HAZWOPER
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
- 0-3 years of environmental consulting or related experience.
- Ability to obtain OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER within one month.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
- MS Office proficiency; GIS/AutoCAD familiarity.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, and air following procedures.
- Support installation of monitoring wells and soil/rock logging.
- Perform asbestos sampling and inspections for due diligence projects.
- Record field measurements and maintain complete field notes.
- Operate field instruments and collect environmental data.
- Coordinate field schedules with team, subcontractors, and project managers.
- Maintain field equipment and calibration records.
