Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) is seeking an Environmental Scientist 2 for a mid-level role based in Minnesota. The position focuses on environmental investigations, regulatory compliance, and technical reporting with primarily office duties and limited field work.

Requires 2–5 years of experience, a related bachelor’s degree, and HAZWOPER certification (or ability to obtain within six months). OSHA compliance, GIS/AutoCAD skills, and strong communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of environmental consulting, site investigations, regulatory compliance, or remediation.
• HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; GIS/AutoCAD or modeling software preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for clients and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage Phase I/II site assessments and remediation projects.
• Perform field investigations and sampling per industry standards.
• Analyze data and develop remediation and compliance recommendations.
• Prepare technical reports and regulatory documentation.
• Assist in permitting processes and regulatory compliance monitoring.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to proposals and client meetings.
