Job summary

Advanced Telemetry Systems International, Inc. is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Technician (ICT) Level I–III to lead field commissioning, startup, and ongoing troubleshooting of SCADA control systems at water and wastewater plants in Temecula, CA.

The role requires hands-on PLC/SCADA knowledge, field instrumentation skills, and the ability to work with project teams and client staff; travel and on-call rotations are possible.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in instrumentation and controls within water or wastewater utilities
  • Experience commissioning PLC-based control systems and SCADA platforms
  • Proficiency with PLC platforms: Allen-Bradley, Siemens S7, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with SCADA software: Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk
  • Knowledge of Modbus TCP/RTU, DNP3, Ethernet/IP, Profibus
  • Ability to read P&IDs, one-line diagrams, and instrument loop drawings
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site commissioning of SCADA and control systems at water/wastewater facilities
  • Perform loop checks, IO verification, signal calibration, and functional acceptance tests
  • Configure and test field devices (flow meters, transmitters, sensors, VFDs)
  • Coordinate startup activities with engineers, contractors and operations staff
  • Document results, redlines and startup punch lists; support closeout packages
  • Respond to field service calls; troubleshoot faults and instrumentation anomalies
  • Provide 24/7 emergency response rotations as needed
