Job summary

Orange County Water District seeks a Senior Instrumentation and Electrical Technician in Fountain Valley, CA. You will perform journey-level instrumentation and electrical work, support SCADA, and assist with upgrades and maintenance of control systems up to 12 kV.

Responsibilities include installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and wiring of sensors, PLCs, and power distribution. Requires HS diploma and relevant certifications; standby shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Windows OS, networks, PC hardware.
• Ability to develop control programming and graphical displays.
• Experience in instrumentation, electrical and process controls.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, calibrate instrumentation and control systems up to 12 kV.
• Trace and repair electrical equipment, lighting, motor drives, and switchgear.
• Support SCADA operations and upgrades; provide after-hours standby support.
• Prepare reports on progress and parameters; document upgrades.
• Read prints/schematics; troubleshoot control instrumentation.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical/mechanical systems up to 12KV.
• Work flexible shifts; standby rotations; respond within 1 hour when called.
• Ensure safety rules and district policies are followed.
