Job summary

Employment Solutions Ohio is seeking an Area Growth Representative for an established consumer products manufacturer in the Kansas City metro area. The role is a field-based territory position covering Missouri and Iowa with regular travel.

You will build relationships with store managers and buyers at local hardware, electrical, grocery, and supply houses, focusing on opening new accounts and later merchandising and upselling as the territory grows.

Qualifications

• 2–10 years in field sales, route sales, merchandising, or territory management.
• CPG, beverage distribution, retail execution, or brokerage experience preferred.
• Comfort approaching hardware, automotive, grocery, or convenience accounts.
• Self-directed, independent, accountable, and physically capable.

Responsibilities

• Prospect, pitch, and close new stocking locations in person.
• Convert non-stocking locations where product is authorized nationally but not on shelf locally.
• Merchandise accounts, place off-shelf displays, and drive product velocity.
• Run demos, support tradeshows and table days, engage store teams.
• Partner with Regional Growth Support on scheduling and prep.
• Track pipeline, activity, and closes in Salesforce.
• Hit monthly targets for visits and new stocking locations.

Ideal candidate must currently live in the Kansas City metro area. This is a field-based territory role covering Missouri and Iowa, and it requires you to be based locally.

Employment Solutions is hiring an Area Growth Representative for an established consumer products manufacturer. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a $75,000 base salary plus a strong bonus and commission structure, monthly car allowance leading to a company vehicle, and full benefits. Location and travel expectations

Kansas City is your home base. From there, you will cover a two-state territory across Missouri and Iowa, with regular travel throughout both states and an average of 8 to 10 overnight stays per month.

What this role is

An in-the-field sales role focused on growing where the product shows up and moving more of it once it is there. You will spend your days building relationships with store managers and buyers at small businesses like electrical supply houses, lumber yards, hardware stores, and local grocery chains. Early on the split is roughly 70% opening new accounts and 30% servicing existing ones. As the territory grows, that shifts more toward merchandising, upselling, and expanding displays.

Core responsibilities

• Prospect, pitch, and close new stocking locations in-person
• Convert non-stocking locations where the product is authorized nationally but not yet on shelf locally
• Merchandise existing accounts, place off-shelf displays, and drive product velocity
• Run product demos, support tradeshows and table days, and engage store teams
• Partner with a Regional Growth Support Associate on account scheduling and prep
• Track pipeline, activity, and closes in Salesforce
• Hit monthly targets for visits and new stocking locations

We are looking for

• 2 to 10 years in field sales, route sales, merchandising, or territory management
• Experience in CPG, beverage distribution, retail execution, or a brokerage environment strongly preferred
• Comfort calling on hardware, automotive, electrical, grocery, or convenience accounts a plus
• Self-directed operator who thrives on independence and accountability
• Physical stamina for a full day of store visits and multi-day trips
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Professional appearance for customer-facing work
