Job summary

Coastal Beverage Company, Inc. in Wilmington, NC, is seeking a SALES REPRESENTATIVE-SMALL FORMAT to increase market share in assigned accounts.

This is a field-based role requiring daily presence in customer accounts during standard business hours to ensure satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree or equivalent, 2–5 years of related experience, strong communication and sales skills, and the ability to obtain a beer and wine sales license.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two-year college/technical school; 2–5 years related experience.
• Ability to read/interpret safety rules and procedures; write routine reports and present to groups.
• Intermediate math skills including discounts, percentages, and volumes.
• Intermediate reasoning skills to handle multiple variables.
• Basic computer skills with inventory and route accounting software; internet and email.
• Regular, punctual in-person attendance to support sales operations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active beer and wine sales license.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting company standards.

Responsibilities

• Increase Coastal Beverage Company’s market share in assigned accounts.
• Must be field-based with presence in customer accounts during standard hours.
• Develop and maintain relationships with decision-makers using product knowledge.
• Stay compliant with ABC and industry regulations.
• Place product orders and communicate with CSR and Merchandisers for instructions.
• Analyze, forecast and plan account sales activity.
• Recommend sales improvement techniques via merchandising and promotions.
• Ensure pricing and POS are current; keep displays and back stock neat.
• Maximize opportunities by communicating pricing promotions and new products.
• Rotate products and avoid out-of-code items in accounts.
• Resolve customer complaints regarding products or service.
• Achieve monthly sales goals and monitor performance with tools.
• Manage POS forecasts, orders, and inventory for assigned brands.
