Cognex is seeking a field sales professional to drive revenue in our machine vision portfolio. You will visit customers, identify needs, and present Cognex solutions to close orders, while meeting activity targets and expanding the customer base.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in technical sales, with a four-year degree. Willingness to travel and relocate, strong communication, and problem-solving skills are essential to succeed in our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of technical sales experience (machine vision preferred).
• Four-year college degree from a reputable university.
• STEM/Engineering major preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to visit multiple customer accounts in a single day using one's own means of transportation.

Responsibilities

• Achieve a defined sales quota for both current and prospective customers within the assigned territory.
• Meet activity-based business objectives, including customer visits, new customer acquisition, and new product introductions.
• Prospect new sales opportunities through cold and warm leads, cultivate prospects, and schedule customer site visits with the goal of securing purchase orders.
• Travel to customer manufacturing facilities to demonstrate Cognex products, review applications, and provide technical solutions.
• Capture competitive information and update project details in the CRM system.
• Support trade shows and marketing events to generate qualified leads.
• Generate leads for other Cognex sales teams by identifying complex vision applications beyond the scope of assigned ID and Vision Sensor products.
