Job summary

STIHL Inc. seeks a Retail Support Specialist to drive dealer development and merchandising across STIHL dealerships. You’ll train staff, coordinate store setups, and support Territory Managers with proactive, customer-focused sales activities and product training.

The role is an outside sales position performed remotely, with up to 75% travel. Ideal candidates live near Salt Lake, UT or are willing to relocate, with a bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years’ experience in sales or retail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience preferred.
• 1–3 years of related work experience preferred.
• Travel may be up to 75%.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to champion and utilize other company-designated software (OneCRM, SAP) as needed.
• Demonstrates effective time management and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform new dealer set-ups; including SCS install, product merchandising, and display setup.
• Train new dealers’ staff on STIHL basics and selling training; support merchandising and SCS expansion.
• Visit Construction Type National Accounts to establish in-store relationships and provide product training and merchandising support.
• Attend regional trade shows, training events (e.g., STIHL U) and dealer events to promote STIHL and its products and services.
• Maintain reporting (CRM, monthly field reports, and updates on store training and development).
• Attend sales meetings and dealer training sessions and other required meetings and training.
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
