Job summary

Sheakley is seeking a Construction Site Safety Technician for a 12-month, 1099 contract in Santa Teresa, NM on a large-scale data center electrical installation project. The role involves hands-on field safety oversight, coordinating with electricians, foremen, and project safety leadership.

You will identify hazards, monitor safe work practices, enforce OSHA and project safety requirements, and document observations, audits, and corrective actions to support a safe, compliant worksite.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification is required.
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
• Experience providing safety oversight for electrical contractors.
• Current First Aid/CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for electrical construction activities.
• Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, observations, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor electrical installation and utility construction activities.
• Work directly with electricians, foremen, and supervision to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
• Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy control activities.
• Monitor temporary power and electrical safe work practices.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans.
• Maintain required inspection records, safety documentation, and compliance reports.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
