Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing seeks a Construction Site Safety Technician for a 12-month assignment in Santa Teresa, NM. The role provides hands-on field safety oversight for electrical installation and utility construction on a large-scale data center project.

Expect 50–60 hour weeks with OT pay after 40 hours at 1.4x, weekly pay, and a $125/day per diem for non-local candidates. OSHA 30 certification and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
• Experience providing safety oversight for electrical contractors.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for electrical construction activities.
• Maintain a highly visible presence in active work areas.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor electrical installation and utility construction activities.
• Work directly with electricians, foremen, and supervision to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
• Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy control activities.
• Monitor temporary power and electrical safe work practices.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans.
• Monitor fall protection, elevated work, aerial lifts, and material handling operations.
• Support excavation and underground utility activities where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
• Document field observations and track corrective actions through completion.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain required inspection records, safety documentation, and compliance reports.
• Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel.
• Coordinate closely with the Project Safety Manager and other members of the site safety team.
