Job summary

Electrical Corporation of America (ECA) seeks an entry-level Corporate Safety Technician to support safety across electrical construction projects. You will perform routine site observations, document hazards, coach safe practices, and help maintain safety records under the Safety Director and project teams.

You will travel to project sites, assist with safety analyses and training, and participate in incident reporting and follow-up with senior safety staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and interest in construction safety; internship or coursework welcome.
• Basic knowledge of construction hazards and OSHA safety practices; eagerness to learn ECA procedures.
• Ability to communicate clearly with field staff and document observations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook or similar tools; learn ECA safety systems.
• Travel to assigned job sites and work in an active construction environment.
• Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s in safety or related field; OSHA 10/30 and CPR/First Aid/AED certifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine job site inspections and safety observations using ECA checklists.
• Identify hazards, coach safe practices, and track corrective actions through completion.
• Review PPE use and observe activities like ladders, lifts, tools, and housekeeping.
• Exercise Stop Work Authority for imminent hazards and notify leadership promptly.
• Support job hazard analyses, daily risk assessments, and pre-job safety discussions.
• Help prepare toolbox talks, safety meetings, and new hire training.
• Assist with incident reporting and investigations under senior staff guidance.
• Maintain safety records, KPI dashboards, and training logs accurately and on time.
• Coordinate safety meeting schedules, rosters, site visits, and documentation requests.
