Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional construction safety experience in a field-based safety role.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Location: Raytown/Kansas City, MO – Moving to Overland Park, KS mid 2026

Electrical Corporation of America (ECA) is seeking a Corporate Safety Representative to help lead and maintain a strong culture of safety across all company projects by ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and industry best practices. This role conducts jobsite safety inspections, identifies and mitigates hazards, provides safety training, and collaborates with project teams to proactively prevent incidents. By monitoring field operations, investigating incidents, and promoting safe work practices, the safety representative plays a critical role in protecting employees and maintaining safe, compliant job sites.

What You’ll Do

Safety Leadership & Compliance

  • Promote and support ECA’s safety culture by encouraging safe work practices and reinforcing company safety expectations.
  • Conduct routine jobsite inspections to identify hazards, evaluate work practices, and verify compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific requirements.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, client, and company safety requirements.
  • Exercise Stop Work Authority when imminent danger or uncontrolled hazards are identified and coordinate corrective actions before work resumes.
  • Serve as a safety resource for employees, supervisors, and project teams by providing guidance on safe work practices and applicable regulations.

Hazard Prevention & Risk Management

  • Assist project teams in identifying and mitigating potential hazards before and throughout construction activities.
  • Participate in pre-job planning and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) with Project Managers and Superintendents to identify project-specific safety requirements.
  • Promote proactive hazard recognition by observing work activities, reinforcing safe behaviors, and addressing unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, property damage, and near misses, documenting findings and assisting with corrective and preventive actions.

Training & Employee Engagement

  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientations, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and other safety training programs.
  • Foster a positive safety culture by educating employees, encouraging open communication, and supporting continuous safety awareness across project teams.
  • Partner with project leadership to reinforce accountability and promote employee involvement in safety initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, incident investigations, corrective actions, and other required safety documentation.
  • Prepare reports and documentation to support safety metrics, compliance efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, and other stakeholders regarding safety compliance, as appropriate.
  • Travel to assigned project sites to support safety activities, audits, and project needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional construction safety experience in a field-based safety role.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other business software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate safety documentation and records.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with employees, project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.

Preferred

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.
  • Experience supporting large commercial or industrial construction projects.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to frequently walk active construction sites over uneven terrain.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and access elevated work areas to perform inspections.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift materials as necessary throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around typical construction site hazards.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
