Job summary

First Student is hiring a Field Supervisor to help keep our safety standards and service levels at the forefront of student transportation. You will monitor driver performance, participate in safety checks, and assist management with staffing and route operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 1–2 years supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. DOT drug testing applies to this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience dealing with collision and injury claims a plus.
• Prior School Bus Driver experience preferred.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical per 49 CFR Part 40.

Responsibilities

• Monitors driver pre and post trip inspections and equipment issues and takes corrective action.
• Performs driver road checks and observes drivers for work readiness.
• Performs IPP Safety contacts with drivers; corrects safety violations on the scene.
• Dispatches and drives routes as needed.
• Assists management with driver interviews.
• Monitors on time performance.
