Job summary

Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) is seeking a Safety Specialist to develop, audit and promote the SSSP in collaboration with field crews. The role supports incident investigations, hazard inspections and corrective actions to reinforce safe work practices.

You will assist with safety training and ensure compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations, working across multiple sites as needed. A degree in safety is preferred, with strong communication skills and independence.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Working knowledge of computers, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, reviewing, updating, and communicating the SSSP to all parties.
• Collaborate daily with craft to promote safety program buy-in.
• Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Perform hazard inspections and help implement outcomes.
• Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, and client requirements.
