The Henry County Water Authority is seeking a Safety and Risk Management Specialist to be a hands-on field resource, promoting safety culture and regulatory compliance across facilities, field operations, and construction sites.

The role conducts field observations, develops procedures, investigates incidents, and coordinates training, emergency preparedness, and risk-reduction efforts with employees and management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, plus 2–3 years related experience or training.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license; OSHA 30 certification; CPR/First Aid, Flagging and Defensive Driving Instructor certifications are highly desirable; willingness to obtain instructor cert if not possessed.

Responsabilités

• Maintain a regular, visible presence across HCWA operations.
• Conduct field observations, inspections, and safety audits to identify hazards and risks.
• Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures compliant with laws and regulations.
• Investigate injuries, incidents, and near-misses; document findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate employee safety training, toolbox talks, and drills; support emergency plans.
