Job summary

Granite Construction Company is seeking a Safety and Health Manager to administer and manage the Safety and Health Management System at an assigned location, ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous safety improvement. Eligible candidates will spend up to 80% of time onsite at project sites.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Safety or related field, 3+ years in construction safety, CSP/CHST/CMSP preferred, and strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related field, preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of safety responsibilities in construction or applicable industry.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CHST or CMSP preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal safety and health regulations.
• Strong communication, organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage compliance with Safety and Health Management System.
• Partner with teams, owners, clinics and testing facilities for safety.
• Advise changes to work procedures to protect employees and public.
• Perform inspections, audits to reduce incidents and protect health.
• Conduct training and regulatory compliance initiatives for awareness.
• Coordinate meetings and training to communicate safety expectations.
• Participate in regulatory inspections and investigations.
• Develop and review job hazard analyses to control hazards.
• Investigate near-misses, incidents and claims to protect company interests.
• Manage periodic checks and timely corrective actions.
