Job summary

Granite Construction Company is seeking a Safety professional to support the administration of the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) across an assigned location. You will work to ensure regulatory compliance, safety program engagement, and effective communication with stakeholders.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Safety or related field and at least 3 years’ safety experience in construction, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related field, preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years' experience in construction or applicable industry with safety responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members, owner representatives, regulatory agencies, clinics, and testing facilities to foster effective relationships.
• Promote engagement with the safety program and incident prevention efforts to reduce at-risk behaviors.
• Assist in implementing safety programs to meet strategic goals.
• Conduct inspections, observations and audits to reduce incidents and safeguard employee health.
• Prepare and conduct safety meetings and training to improve hazard awareness.
• Coordinate with regulatory inspections and investigations to ensure compliance.
• Assist in developing and reviewing job hazard analyses to identify hazards and controls.
• Investigate near misses, incidents and claims to protect company interests.
• Perform periodic checks to ensure corrective actions are completed and documented.
