Job summary

Sheakley is seeking a Construction Safety Manager in Santa Barbara, CA for a 12-month, 1099 contractor role. The position offers a pay rate of $65 per hour, with a weekly pay schedule and a completion bonus of $150 per month.

Qualifications

OSHA 500 or 510 certification is required.
Minimum 3+ years of construction safety experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide daily field safety oversight for campus construction activities.
Conduct new hire safety orientations and onboarding programs.
Develop, review, and track Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
Perform routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
Monitor subcontractor activities and construction operations.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective actions.
Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel.
Lead and attend project safety meetings.
Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors.
Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports.
Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project.
