Job summary

Liesfeld Contractor is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead safety on heavy civil and site development projects in the Greater Richmond region. You will stay hands-on in the field, promote a safety culture, coach crews, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.

The role emphasizes field leadership, safety planning, training delivery, and collaboration with foremen, superintendents, and project managers to prevent incidents and maintain safe operations.

Qualifications

• Proven construction safety experience and OSHA compliance knowledge.
• Ability to lead safety initiatives and coach field crews.
• Strong documentation, inspections, and incident investigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visible field presence and oversee safety across projects.
• Conduct safety inspections, identify hazards, and enforce corrective actions.
• Lead safety meetings, trainings, and toolbox talks for all crews.
• Develop and review project safety plans, JHAs, PTAs, and permits.
• Investigate incidents, compile reports, and drive corrective actions.
